Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare and Medicine
Abstract
The KPJ Academic Health System (KPJHS) is Malaysia’s first integrated academic health system, strategically designed to unify clinical service delivery, biomedical research, and health professions education within a single collaborative ecosystem. KPJHS integrates the collective capabilities of KPJ Healthcare, enabling seamless exchange of clinical data, research evidence, multidisciplinary expertise, and innovation across its hospitals, academic institutions, and strategic partners to advance evidence-based and value-driven healthcare. Within KPJHS, the Future Health Institute (FHI) functions as a translational interface between academia, industry, and clinical practice, providing a collaborative platform for healthcare professionals, innovators, and government stakeholders to collectively develop future models of care. Operating under FHI, the Center for Digital Health (CDH) is dedicated to the research, development, and implementation of advanced digital health technologies and artificial intelligence across the healthcare and educational ecosystem. This presentation will outline the conceptual framework of KPJHS, FHI, and CDH, followed by an overview of ongoing initiatives under CDH such as the development of AI-based computer-aided diagnosis systems for cancer and diabetic wounds. These AI-driven computer-aided diagnostic systems enhance the overall quality and standard of healthcare by improving diagnostic accuracy and clinical consistency. They reduce human error, minimize inter- and intra-observer variability, mitigate interpretation bias, and enable faster, standardized reporting. Furthermore, these systems optimize clinical workflow by reducing the workload of healthcare professionals, thereby supporting more efficient and evidence-based patient care.

Next Generation of Internet of Things System
Abstract
Today next generation of the Internet of Things (IoT) is important for everyone in the world where it can change the human life into more advanced technologies. Centre for Wireless Technology (CWT), Multimedia University Malaysia is actively work in this field where it is a foundational platform to develop a wireless research environment that produces high talented future leaders in academia, industry, and government. CWT aspires to prepare researchers to be an exceptional engineers and educators by integrating research and teaching to provide high impact learning and practice while serving as an international beacon in engineering research and academia. CWT aims to support and enhance wireless engineering curriculum through the lab members’ research contributions in the theoretical and practical aspects of wireless technologies. Through research and development, training and outreach activities, a wide range of smart connected wireless devices and technologies will be created, and enhance even more personalized and intelligent user experiences of wireless ecosystem in the horizon. This presentation will outline the research centre, core technologies of next generation of the Internet of Things (IoT) such as Artificial Intelligence & Agentic AI which is more to embedding machine learning and autonomous decision-making agents directly into hardware to take real-world actions without human triggers. An advanced connectivity will also being discussed which utilizing high-speed, ultra-low-latency 5G, 6G, and low-power wide-area networks like LoRaWAN and NB-IoT. The key applications are more to agriculture which combines smart wireless sensors, artificial intelligence (AI), and high-speed connectivity like 5G/6G and satellite networks to automate and optimize farming.

Revisiting Discrete Fourier Transform in Audio Signal Processing Applications
Abstract
Digital devices today are more than a billion times more powerful than those half a century ago. This advancement makes some of the best practices introduced in the early days of digital signal processing legacy. The “giant-FFT SRC (Sampling Rate Conversion)” is one such example; it enables artifact-free conversion in a straightforward implementation. This talk starts with a discussion of the giant-FFT SRC and leads to the introduction of our “signal safeguarding for impulse response estimation.” This signal safeguarding makes arbitrary sounds appropriate for acoustic tests.

Implementing Smart X in Indonesia: Challenges and Opportunities
Abstract
The Smart-X concept extends beyond smart cities, encompassing diverse domains such as healthcare, agriculture, mobility, defense, villages, and region-scale systems. It combines sensing, data integration, artificial intelligence, analytics, digital twins, and collaborative technologies to transform heterogeneous data into actionable insights and intelligent actions that improve quality of life. However, infrastructure disparities, data silos, no sense of urgency, and lack of regulations make it challenging to produce effective results. In this talk, we present a strategy to implement Smart-X in Indonesia by bringing together a multidisciplinary approach and collaboration.
